Funding for Friends

Funding for the Friends of the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum, Inc. comes from two major sources: annual memberships and the biennial Glitz & Grits fundraiser.

Memberships  

Membership drives are held every year and follow a January 1 – December 31 calendar.
Memberships range from $50 to $1,000 and come with a one-year subscription to either the Smithsonian Magazine or Air and Space Magazine. The Friends generally make about $40,000 a year from memberships.
 

Glitz & Grits Fundraiser

Glitz & Grits, an outstanding social event highlighting the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum, is held every other year, usually in late September or early October.
 
Glitz & Grits sponsorship opportunities range from $250 - $5,000.
 
Individual tickets for Gritz & Glitz 2009 cost $50.
